NHS Orkney has an exciting opportunity for a talented Planning Performance and Risk Manager to join our team. This role is central to our organisational success ensuring that our corporate-wide plans are developed in line with our purpose and strategy, that they are effectively tested and communicated with our various stakeholders and that our performance and risk in delivering them is monitored and reported transparently and in alignment with the expectations of stakeholders. This relies on the role ensuring that we have the right processes, systems, and team in place.
Our Board, its Committees and senior management structures require high quality services, led by the Planning Performance and Risk manager.
We are keen to recruit someone who has been at the heart of supporting their organisation or the system in which they work to transform- who can see both the big picture and the component strands, who can harness the expertise and energy across our teams so that we have cohesive, compelling plans and the means of tracking and measuring our success in a way which is efficient and meaningful for our various stakeholders. We need someone who will challenge our current corporate planning and performance processes, systems, and reporting.
You will have experience in effective corporate or system-wide review and planning. Also, in developing and managing mechanisms for tracking delivery of plans and measuring corporate or system-wide performance and risk e.g. KPIs, data and reporting.
Bringing extensive experience in a senior management role in complex and multidisciplinary systems, you will have experience of strategic planning, performance and risk, ideally but not essentially, in a public sector context. You will be a strategic thinker with the ability to influence and negotiate, with demonstrable experience of high level and complex multi stakeholder management within a politically sensitive environment.
If you are interested in this vacancy and would like further information, please contact Mark Doyle - Director of Finance, Planning and Performance on 01856 888225
*An excellent relocation package of up to £8,000 is available depending on eligibility. Distant Islands Allowance for residents, currently £1,314 pro rata per annum, is also included into the NHS Orkney Salary.
