This is a training post, which requires a significant level of academic study to achieve competence in role delivery, whilst undergoing training the successful candidate will be paid a percentage of the top of Band 7 and on completion of training will then move on to Band 7 scale.
This is an exciting opportunity to develop & enhance your clinical skills, in order to further your professional career, working with the Mental Health and Learning Disability Services Team covering NHS Lanarkshire Wide. The post holder will own a full valid UK driving licence and be required to cover 12.5hr shifts over 7 days, some unsociable, and weekends.
The Mental Health-Trainee Advanced Nurse Practitioner work within agreed protocols, to perform a clinical assessment, initiate investigations, determine a differential diagnosis, and undertake appropriate first-line interventions.- specifically, this post will lead to the psychiatric assessment of service users referred to Mental Health ServicesTo utilise expert knowledge base and clinical competence, to support multi-professional teams, ensuring a high standard of clinical care, in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and health and safety legislation. To provide first-line clinical cover for the assessment and treatment of individuals with mental health needs within general acute and mental health services. To provide leadership, clinical support, and advice to nursing and junior medical staff, making appropriate referrals to and co-ordinating the contribution of other members of the multi-professional team. To facilitate, and participate in audit and quality assurance programmes, promoting evidence-based practice.
The successful candidate will own a Registered Nurse with valid NMC Registration Educated to/working towards/operating at Masters Level Post-graduate expertise within specialty/area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently. Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the specialty. Advanced Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies, and procedures associated with the specialty/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within the specialty. Evidence of application of advanced practice skills in specialty and applying clinical judgment. Evidence of further developed knowledge and experience in management and/or leadership. Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of specialty including study days/courses/post-graduate qualifications post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate and influence others and work using their own initiative. Excellent listening, communication, and interpersonal skills and effective time management skills Working knowledge of basic information technology
