This post is fixed term for 24 months.
The post will be based at the Clinical Research Unit, the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre (BWoSCC), Glasgow which is one of the major cancer clinical trials units in the UK with over 160 clinical trials at any one time.
The postholder will provide laboratory and technical support to research nursing staff for translational and clinical research in experimental medicine and clinical trials conducted through the BeatsonWoSCC.
Applicants should have 3 Highers at Grade C or above, which should include either Chemistry or Biology together with Maths, or SVQ3 in relevant science subject, or
completion of modern apprenticeship in life sciences, or completion of equivalent accredited education / learning
Evidence of good numeracy/literacy skills, basic computer knowledge and good verbal communication skills are essential. Knowledge of laboratory techniques applicable to sample handling and processing is desirable as is knowledge of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)
The shift pattern is; Usually flexible office hours with occasional OOH required
