Do you have excellent communication skills, an ability to work in partnership with

others, a patient focused approach and a desire to provide and improve services to

meet the needs of people who are overweight?

We are keen to look at new and transformational ways of delivering the service with a view to long term sustainability and have some short term funding to undertake specific pieces of work to enable us to do this.

Pieces of work the postholders will undertake are:

  • To work in partnership with colleagues from psychology, AWM services and diabetes to develop, deliver and evaluate a Tier 3 AWM service in Primary Care
  • To assist in the development of a pathway for management of patients starting Liraglutide, and to evaluate the impact of Liraglutide prescribing on the dietetic service workload
  • Roll out Counterweight Plus groups to people who are overweight

You will be part of a team of community dietitians within Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire but will also work as part of the wider health and social care team to deliver services across the partnerships.

This is an ideal opportunity for candidates wishing to develop and progress their career and professional practice in a department that recognises the value of ongoing CPD, robust clinical supervision system and exposure to a variety of development opportunities and for candidates seeking a secondment opportunity.

We participate in undergraduate student training, taking students for their B & C placement. We work with dietetic colleagues across Grampian on shared issues and initiatives such as clinical effectiveness, patient safety and patient centeredness.

Delivery of a high quality dietetic service is high on our agenda.

You must be a car driver and hold a full driving licence.

You will be required to work 5 of 7 days which may include weekend working as required
