This is a key position within the NHS Lothian Estates & Facilities Directorate and an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to work closely with the Estates Assurance Lead and Head of Estates to ensure Fire Safety Compliance across the NHS Lothian portfolio.
This is a busy, challenging, and rewarding role; ensuring the safety of patients, staff and visitors within NHS Lothian’s properties. The postholder must be able to demonstrate a sound understanding of Fire Safety legislation and statutory and mandatory compliance; alongside an ability to plan, prioritise and organise their workload to meet deadlines. You will be a team player and effective communicator, providing expert healthcare fire safety advice to estates & facilities colleagues.
The postholder will regularly audit, monitor, review and report on Fire Safety Compliance across NHS Lothian to ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice, technical guidance etc.
The role also requires the development, implementation and continual review of all fire safety policies and procedures - ensuring that these documents incorporate any updates to legislation, regulations and technical guidance.
You will work closely with the Assurance Lead as line manager, and regularly communicate with Estates operational and Fire Safety teams; as well as other stakeholders.
This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
