You will be HCPC or NMC registered, hold a BSc in Radiography or Midwifery or equivalent with a minimum of 4 years clinical experience. You will have good hand/eye coordination, knowledge of cross sectional anatomy and good IT skills an advantage. Mandatory training to Postgraduate Certificate level in Obstetric and Gynaecology Ultrasound by a CASE accredited University is required. 

Currently Greater Glasgow & Clyde offers approximately 110,000 Obstetric and Gynaecology ultrasound scans per annum. There are three large departments, at Queen Elizabeth University Maternity Hospital, Princess Royal Maternity and Royal Alexandra Hospital, with smaller departments at both Inverclyde Royal Hospital and Vale of Leven hospital. 

You will learn to evaluate requests for ultrasound examinations, learn to undertake and independently report a full range of early pregnancy, gynaecological and obstetric ultrasound scans. You will be required to inform women of ultrasound findings which will affect their clinical management resulting in difficult and challenging conversations.

The hours are worked Sun-Sat 9.00 am – 5.00 pm
