An exciting opportunity has arisen within Dumfries and Galloway’s Renal Service.
Kidney Care Planning Specialist Nurse 30 hpw
Role involves the case management of patients with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD). The management of this patient group comes from referrals by the Medical Team who feels the individual patient and family require education regarding the various forms of treatment.
The treatment options include haemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, transplant, or conservative management. Central to the role is the need to coordinate services for the patient and symptom management, this involves working closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team namely the pharmacy, social workers, dietician GP's and Practice nurses.
The base for this post will be Mountainhall Treatment Centre Renal Unit. You will be required to work 4 shifts a week between Monday and Friday.
Renal Services work out of multiple sites within Dumfries and Galloway, you will be required to complete home visits and cover clinics throughout the region so a driver’s licence is required.

NHS Dumfries & Galloway can support OSCE Training for international nurses for vacancies based at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary or Mountainhall Treatment Centre Community Ward 1 for those who have completed CBT and English language.
