Job Title: General Practitioner in Ambulatory Emergency Care Unit

Location: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital 

Applications are invited for a temporary post which will be based at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH). This post is to provide cover for maternity leave for 12 months (August 2022 – August 2023). The successful candidate will join a team of 5 consultants in Acute Internal Medicine, a Lead Nurse for Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANPs), 7 ANPs and trainee ANPs.

Description of the Department

The Acute Receiving complex is based on the ground floor of the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and has 118 bays/beds including the Initial Assessment Unit (GP referrals to medicine), medical clusters (90 beds) and an Ambulatory Emergency Care Unit (AECU).

The Post

The post will be made up of 32 (or 20) hours of clinical activity working shifts. A 2 hour administration time will be allocated. The successful candidate will be expected to 1000 – 1800 Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. This can be flexible and can be further discussed at interview. Weekend cover will not be required.
