Job Advert

The Fife Musculoskeletal (MSK) Physiotherapy service has a growing reputation for it’s innovating and transformation philosophy. In keeping with this ethos the service continues to develop its General Practice Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioners Service (previously referred to as First Contact Physiotherapy Service).

We are looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic HCPC registered Physiotherapist to provide clinical expertise in an advanced practitioner role in General practice and also to provide clinical and non-clinical leadership within the Team. Additional posts may be available if further funding is secured during the recruitment period. You will be expected to carry a clinical caseload at advanced practice level and be actively involved in influencing and implementing outpatient musculoskeletal service development. You will receive guidance in this role from the General Practice Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner Lead, Consultant Physiotherapist and the Advanced Practice Operational/Clinical MSK Service Leads.

You will be based across NHS Fife as the service requires. Flexibility to travel around the Fife area is required depending on the needs of the service. You must have an excellent knowledge base regarding the management of musculoskeletal conditions and previous experience at highly specialist, clinical specialist or advanced practice physiotherapy level. Injection therapy and prescribing qualifications would be desirable, however training in these areas can be provided. Experience of education of undergraduates, junior staff and effective clinical leadership skills are essential. You will be motivated, possess excellent communication skills and have work well as part of the general practice multi-disciplinary team.

The promotion of a person-centered approach to patient care and staff development are central to our service improvement culture. We strive to provide a stimulating and learning working environment, with regular training, peer review, mentorship and varied experiential opportunities. We actively encourage Continuing Professional Development (CPD), participation in service evaluations, clinical audits, and practice development networks.

For informal enquiries, please contact Louise Kellichan and Stephen Doherty (Lead Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioners) via email who will arrange a callback to suit clinical commitments - louise.kellichan@nhs.scot / stephen.doherty@nhs.scot.

A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Prior to appointment.
