This NHS lead position requires a motivated individual to provide high quality clinical psychology expertise in assessment and treatment for clients with a learning disability. Potential applicants will need to demonstrate experience in managing and delivering psychological services to clients with a learning disability and as well as service development and line management experience.
This post is responsible for the systematic provision, governance and quality of psychological interventions for this client group in NHS Lothian and the postholder will need to work within professional guidelines
In addition there is a need to provide teaching, supervision, consultancy and research expertise to Clinical Psychology trainees and other MDT professionals, and to contribute to the systematic governance of psychological practice within the service. There is a requirement to utilise high level research skills for audit, policy and service development as a requirement of the job.
There are close links with both the wider Psychology Department and the University of Edinburgh, with opportunities for research and continuing professional development. applications.
This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
