Infrastructure Technical Specialist

Based in the Microsoft Infrastructure and Security Team, this role for a Technical Specialist represents an excellent opportunity to progress your career within Technical Services. A crucial role within the team, the successful candidate will support critical Infrastructure Services on the Windows Platform.
The successful candidate will be a key member of the team responsible for supporting the underpinning Microsoft Infrastructure and Security Services. This person will work closely with other Infrastructure staff and 3rd parties and will collaborate with project teams to ensure a stable and secure platform for key clinical applications
The successful candidate should have at least 2 years’ experience of working in an IT Support Role with understanding of some of the following technologies:
• Microsoft Server Operating Systems 2008-2012R2
• Microsoft Desktop Operating Systems 7, 8.1 and 10
• Microsoft Active Directory 2008-2012R2 in a multi-forest/domain environment.
• Group Policy Management
• Microsoft Networking (DNS/DHCP).
• Microsoft System Centre Configuration Manager 2007/2012 (SCCM).
• WSUS
• McAfee ePO & security suite products including Anti-Virus, Data Loss Prevention
• Endpoint encryption (Bitlocker)
• Vbscript and/or Powershell scripting
The successful candidate should also have the following Behavioural Competencies
• Able to resolve complex problems working under a high pressure situation.
• Able to communicate clearly about technical equipment and problems with non-technical users.
• Work closely with other Infrastructure staff and 3rd parties and will collaborate with project teams.
• Able to represent the team at meetings involving senior infrastructure managers and non eHealth staff
• Exposure to IT within the Health Service
The hours are worked Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm
