Scotland’s first modern hospice, St Columba’s Hospice first opened its doors in 1977. Over the years it has grown and evolved into an exemplary provider of specialist palliative care for thousands of people with life-limiting illnesses in Edinburgh and the Lothians annually, while also providing support to their relatives and loved ones. We currently have the following opportunity to join the Hospice team:
Nursing Auxiliaries
Hospice Band 2 – Starting Salary £21,230 WTE (following 12 month review, salary may rise to £22,263 WTE per annum subject to satisfactory performance) + Unsocial Hours Shift Allowance + Pension + Benefits
Full time & Part-time positions available
We currently have full time and a part-time vacancies for friendly and enthusiastic Nursing Auxiliaries to join the ward team, regularly working a variety of shifts on internal rotation. You will be a motivated individual who is passionate about delivering high quality care to patients with a terminal illness.
This is an opportunity to work within a supportive team, giving our patients the highest standards of care they deserve. You’ll be responsible for providing physical, psychological and spiritual care to our patients and families.
We offer an excellent working environment as part of a friendly, dedicated and professional team. Whilst previous healthcare experience is desirable, it is not essential – you should have excellent communication skills, a friendly and caring personality and an understanding and respectful approach to patients, along with the ability to work on your own and as part of a team, with patience and a sense of humour.
The successful candidates will work a mixture of shifts, including days, nights, weekends and bank holidays.
