The Lothian Eating Disorders Service is a well established multi-disciplinary outpatient and community Eating Disorders Service. The service is based in the Royal Edinburgh Hospital but there are also opportunities for satellite clinics throughout Lothian and to become involved in community-based work and inpatient liaison. The service supports patients with a wide range of eating disorder presentations and offers psychological and medical interventions. The principal role of the CPN post is to be responsible for a caseload of high-risk eating disorder patients including medical and psychiatric assessment, care planning, implementation and evaluation. The post holder will be expected to contribute to audit and evaluation and broader service development. There is a focus on medical monitoring of patients at present which is under review as the service expands. A specific interest in and experience with the specialty will be most welcome but we are also committed to providing the training and supervision required for the post holder to develop within the role. The successful candidate will take up a second CPN post within the service as we have recently recruited to expand this part of our service. The post-holder is recommended to have a car for community visiting, liaising and outreach work (e.g. with the Regional Eating Disorders Inpatient Unit at St John’s Hospital, Livingston) when this cannot be delivered via phone or video link.
