Mallaig & Arisaig Medical Practice Team
Salaried GP in Rural Practice
18 hrs per week – Permanent
£83,666 to £94,311 per annum pro rata (2021/22 rates)
We’re looking for one part time GP to work a rotational model in the beautiful, rural area of Mallaig & Arisaig. The practice is located in the port of Mallaig, with a Branch Surgery in Arisaig. In this remote area, BASICS training is a requirement.
This is no Out of Hours commitment and the practice is non-dispensing.
Mallaig lies at the end of the evocatively named "Road to the Isles." It is also the terminus for the West Highland Railway from Fort William and the focus for a network of ferry services to Skye, to the Small Isles, to South Uist and to the Knoydart peninsula. It is somewhere that will be visited sooner or later by most travellers to the Highlands, and whether you arrive by road, rail or boat, you find a large village of great character in a simply stunning setting.
Outwith your day-to-day GP duties, there are outdoor activities including: cold water swimming, stunning beaches, kayaking (local canoe club), walking, hill walking, cycling, 9 hole golf course in a beautiful setting, fishing and shooting. There is a local swimming pool with sauna and gymnasium. In the Community Hall there is a library, College (Mallaig Learning Centre), indoor bowling , whist club, dancing, yoga, music etc.
