NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is the largest health organisation in Scotland providing acute hospital, primary, community and mental health services to a population of 1.2 million in 6 local authority areas. The Board is embarking on a period of transformational change developing new models of care, delivering safe, effective and person-centred care. This will be driven by innovation and the opportunities presented by new technology and the digital age. The post sits within the Oral Health Directorate (OHD). The OHD is hosted within East Dunbartonshire Health & Social Care Partnership (HSCP) and has responsibility and accountability for Primary Care Dental Services. The responsibility and accountability for Secondary Care Dental services sits with Regional Services, part of the Acute Sector of NHS GGC. Having primary and secondary care dental services within one directorate facilitates the delivery of a single NHS GG&C Board wide service. The structure incorporates:
- General Dental Services including GGEDS
- Public Dental Service
- Secondary Care Dental Services
- Dental Public Health
- Oral Health Improvement
You will report to the General Manager for the OHD and have responsibility for developing and implementing services within key primary care areas ensuring there is a clear focus on the delivery of a range of high quality, safe and efficient patient centred services to meet local and national targets. With strong influencing and leadership qualities you will require to evidence significant experience in operational management in a healthcare or equivalent complex environment. You will have the ability to inspire confidence and respect to lead and deliver in a politically sensitive and demanding environment. Key to the success of this role will be the ability to contribute to the development of a strong, patient-focused culture which encourages initiative, individual and team responsibility and open communication.
