Vehicle Technician
West Region – Ayr Based

Permanent Position – 37.5 Hours and rostered on call
 

We are recruiting for a Vehicle Technician (Master Craftsperson) to be based at our Ayr facility in the West Region. The successful candidate may be required to work from other Scottish Ambulance Service Workshops, on occasion, if required. The successful candidate will be one of a highly skilled and dedicated team reporting to the Workshop Chargehand.

The successful candidate will:
•    Be a qualified Vehicle Technician with experience in the maintenance and repair of cars and light commercial vehicles.
•    Have undertaken an automotive apprenticeship and be qualified to a minimum of NVQ Level 3 (or comparable qualification) or equivalent experience.
•    Have experience operating in a demanding working environment with health and safety at the forefront of our operation.  
•    Be confident in delivering a high-quality vehicle and equipment support to our front-line colleagues throughout the region. 
•    Have a sound working knowledge of vehicle diagnostics.
•    Be familiar in the use of internet and e-mail is desirable
•    Hold a full driving licence with C1 entitlement or attain C1 entitlement within 12 months (support may be available to attain this and can be discussed at interview).


This is a full-time position working dayshift 37.5 hours Monday to Friday. You will also be required to be part of a rotating pattern of weekend On Call working, with occasional overtime and public holiday working, both paid at the appropriate enhanced rate.
