The Public Health Directorate is recruiting a Band 7 Health Improvement Lead post to provide effective operational management and professional leadership to a discrete team within the overall Health Services Section, with responsibility for an extensive portfolio of health improvement and health inequalities work for Child & Maternal Health.   The post will provide leadership for health improvement work streams, reflecting policy and practice, which specifically address local health needs and strengthen the Public Health contribution and impact to both GGC NHS Board and National Health Improvement and Health Inequalities Policy as part of transformational change.  The post holder must be qualified to degree standard and should have a postgraduate qualification that demonstrates an understanding of health improvement/ health promotion/ public health, or has augmented by additional modules at master’s level an existing related post graduate qualification.  The post holder will have demonstrated experience of health improvement/public health and a proven track record of influencing strategic planning in partnership will key stakeholders to deliver health Improvement outcomes. The postholder will be able to demonstrate sound understanding of both project and staff management.
