Learning Disability Nurse Consultant (Ref: 112214)
Substantive Contract
Full Time – 37.5 hours per week
Band 8a - Salary Range £50,965 - £55,016 per annum
Plus Distant Island Allowance of £1,971 per annum and
Relocation Assistance of up to £8000 available
An excellent opportunity has arisen to appoint a Learning Disability Nurse Consultant within the Shetland Community Health and Social Care Partnership.
The post holder will provide expert professional leadership, strategic direction and consultancy on all aspects of clinical practice in Learning Disability Health Services; and in the healthcare of people with learning disabilities across the patient pathway both in the Acute Sector and Health and Social Care Partnership.
This will require working across professional and organisational boundaries, in partnership and in collaboration with others including service users, carers, health professionals, social work and social services, third sector organisations, National and local education providers.
In joining our organisation as Learning Disability Nurse Consultant, you will be responsible for Professional Leadership and Consultancy, Expert Practice, Service, Practice and Policy Development and Education, Training, Research and Development.
The post holder has a lead professional role for the strategic development of learning disabilities nursing services. It includes providing overall professional nursing assurance on standards of care and professionalism to the Chief Nurse and NHS Board Nurse Director. This involves working in partnership with clinical leads, operational managers/senior nurses, general practice, acute hospital services, local authority partners and other agencies in line with good practice and organisational development requirements across the Health and Social Care Partnership and inpatient services.
