You will be NMC registered, hold a BSc in Midwifery or equivalent with a minimum of 4 years clinical experience. You will have good hand/eye coordination, knowledge of cross sectional anatomy and good IT skills an advantage. Mandatory training to Postgraduate Certificate level in Early Pregnancy scanning by a CASE accredited University is required.

There are 3 tertiary referral units within GG&C at Princess Royal Maternity, Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and Royal Alexandra Hospital, with approximately 15,000 births per annum.

You will learn to evaluate requests for ultrasound examinations, learn to undertake and independently report a full range of early pregnancy scans. You will be required to inform women of ultrasound findings which will affect their clinical management resulting in difficult and challenging conversations.
