We are currently looking to recruit a National Systems Trainer to work within the ICT Department of the Scottish Ambulance Service.  Reporting to the ICT Systems Training Manager, you will join a small team responsible for the development and delivery of effective ICT Systems Training courses to all users of specialist Scottish Ambulance Service systems across Scotland.​​​​​​​

The base location of the position is negotiable, but the role requires travel throughout Scotland to meet the needs of the Service.  There will frequently be occasions where the post holders will have to be flexible in terms of their start and finish time during their 37.5hr working week, including out of hours. Occasional overnight stays will also be required.

In addition to training, the postholder will play a key role in the testing of specialist system enhancements and new technology prior to implementation within the live operational environment.

The post involves a high degree of unsupervised work and the successful candidate should meet the following criteria:

  • A minimum of two years’ experience in ICT Systems Training design and delivery.
  • Experience in designing e-learning and other digital learning content.
  • A good working knowledge of ambulance Mobile Communications Systems, including Airwave radio and Mobile Data.
  • A good working knowledge of Emergency Call Handling, Dispatch and Clinician  systems and processes.
  • A good working knowledge of Patient Transport Systems, including the Patient Registration, Planning and Day Control Processes.
  • ICDL qualification or equivalent Microsoft Application skills.
  • A full driving licence is essential.
