Assistant Psychologist (Band 5) Parent and Infant Relationship Service

The Lothian Parent and Infant Relationship Service (PAIRS) is a new service, developed in response to a number of recent policy drivers including the National Managed Clinical Network for Perinatal and Infant Mental Health Needs Assessment and Service Recommendations for Specialist and Universal Perinatal Mental Health Services. The key aims of this multi-disciplinary team are to protect and promote the parent-infant relationship via both direct assessment and evidence based individual and group intervention, and through training, reflective practice and consultancy to enhance capacity in the universal workforce.

The postholder will provide direct and indirect psychological assessment and intervention within their respective service, as well as roles including service evaluation, database management and service development in the continuity of psychological care for parents and infants.
