This is an exciting opportunity to join the senior nursing team, within the Pain Management service, which provides cover across the whole of NHS Grampian site, including Woodend.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual who is willing to undertake and commit to further study in the field of Pain Management, since we have a strong commitment toward professional development and recognise its importance in influencing the future workforce. You will be expected to maintain an up to date knowledge in acute and chronic pain management and attend local and national conferences/study days.
If not already registered as such, you will be expected to qualify as an Independent Prescriber and undertake the Clinical History Taking and Examination Skills for Advanced Practice at RGU.
You must be willing to work as part of the multidisciplinary team, and be able to accept the responsibility of working alone, often under pressure.
Excellent communication skills and computer literacy are essential to the role as is a knowledge of acute pain management. You should be able to demonstrate a genuine interest in Pain Management.
Recent experience in a surgical area would be an advantage as would experience in the management of patients receiving patient controlled analgesia, epidural analgesia and local anaesthetic infusions.
Full time and part time hours are available.
An attractive relocation allowance of up to £8,000 is available to successful candidates.
