PRINCIPAL MEDICAL PHYSICIST, RADIATION PROTECTION AND DIAGNOSTIC RADIOLOGY

BAND 8A

Salary Scale Band 8a £50,965 - £55,016 per annum

Due to the development of the National Treatment Centre and expansion of imaging equipment within NHS Highland the Radiation Protection section is recruiting an additional member of staff.

The post holder will be expected to act as a Medical Physics Expert in Diagnostic Radiology  as well as contribute to all areas of work undertaken by the section (radiation protection / diagnostic radiology physics  / MRI physics).

Applicants for this post must be HCPC registered Clinical Scientist, have a relevant scientific degree (1st or 2nd class), hold a relevant higher degree in Medical Physics. Significant experience in radiation protection and imaging physics is required and an interest in interventional radiology is desirable.

The post holder will be a key member of the Radiation Protection team (5 Clinical Scientists and 1 Clinical Technologist and  part of the integrated Medical Physics Department.
