Job Advert
Due to retirement we are delighted to advertise the post of Associate Director of Midwifery who will also undertake the role of the Chief Midwife for NHS Grampian. This role offers the successful candidate an opportunity, as a senior member of the Integrated Family Portfolio, to transform and develop maternity services and women’s services. The post holder will be a key individual in supporting the realisation of the portfolio’s objectives.
The pandemic accelerated the need to refocus how care is organised and NHS Grampian has moved from a traditional model of working to a portfolio approach. The Integrated Family Portfolio continues to develop how it manages services that traditionally sat within the Acute Sector as well as integrating and jointly agreeing objectives and outputs with Health and Social Care partnerships and other partner agencies.
NHS Grampian has recently launched their Plan for the Future which sets out the strategic direction for the period 2022-2028 where children are identified as a priority. The portfolio has developed aims to deliver its objectives by:
- Focusing on the needs and strengths of women, children and families, working together to improve wellbeing and health outcomes.
- Informed by what women, children and families tell us, develop and deliver services that begin and end at home, in partnership with the wider community.
This is an exciting time to take up this influential role as there are significant drivers that will lead to change in how services are delivered including The Best Start: five-year plan for maternity and neonatal care; The Moray Maternity Review recommendations; regional working; The Women's Health Plan and the opening of the Baird Family Hospital.
If you are a midwife with excellent clinical and managerial experience then we are looking to meet you and discuss this role in more detail. This is an excellent opportunity for personal development and support will be given by NHS Grampian to help you further develop professionally.
If you are ready to look at Regional working, open a new hospital, be at the forefront of Best Start and lead/advise NHS Grampian as to how we need to progress the best Start recommendations then it is time to contact us.
