This is an exciting Fixed Term/Secondment opportunity for one year to lead the Discharge without Delay programme across NHS Ayrshire and Arran.
The key aim of the programme is the Right Patient in the Right Bed at the Right Time, limiting hospital stays to what is clinically and functionally essential, and ensure that patients are transferred to their home environment at the earliest opportunity.
Based at University Hospital Ayr, you will have the lead role for the delivery of the programme system-wide in NHS Ayrshire and Arran and will provide hands-on support and expertise, supporting staff to prepare and plan patients for discharge (from admission), adopting a ‘Home First’ ethos.
You will work in close partnership with HCSP colleagues in the roll-out of the programme and develop plans that deliver sustained improvement against the Scottish Government’s Unscheduled Care Waiting Time targets.
Experience in operational or service management with an understanding of the challenges facing the NHS is essential.
The ability to develop innovative and creative solutions to achieve the DWD Programme’s objectives within a healthcare or related environment is essential.
