An opportunity has arisen for a CBT Therapist/CAAP to join our Community Mental Health Teams in the beautiful surroundings of Argyll and Bute. The Community Mental Health Service provides a matched/stepped care model of psychological therapies including Applied Psychology, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and have close links to our Primary Care Mental Health Service. There will be options for blended online work, but you may be expected to travel between various work locations within Highland to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
Although based in the CMHT, you will be line managed by the Consultant Psychologist/Service Lead for Psychological Therapies in A&B. There are strong links with the Department of Psychological Services in Inverness, and you will join a team of Applied Psychologists, CBT therapists and CAAPs working within Argyll and Bute.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic regarding multi-disciplinary working and feel confident in working as an integral member of the community team. You will have clinical expertise in mental health attained through relevant experience and knowledge of current policies and interventions in order to provide a high quality psychological assessment and therapy in the field of adult mental health, particularly working with complex cases. You will be comfortable working with virtual clinics as well as face to face, and you will assist in providing training, consultation and clinical supervision to colleagues who are using psychological approaches in their work.
Applicants must have a formal CBT training or have completed the CAAP qualification. The post has dedicated CPD & supervision time and the development of special interests in clinical areas & service delivery is encouraged.
