To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.

We require an individual to lead a small team in providing specialist evidence-based advice to the Tayside Alcohol and Drug Partnerships (ADPs).  Working in alcohol and substance use is a challenging environment, and it will require an experienced individual who understands the complexities and constraints of the current systems and the information governance processes within a multi-agency partnership environment, and ideally within alcohol and substance use services itself.   You will be expected to represent public health at strategic and operational meetings at both a local and national level offering advice and guidance.

The post holder must be able to demonstrate a strong recent track record in project management, coaching and mentoring staff, quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, experience in information management and in conducting social science research.  Experience of facilitating and maintaining effective partnership working with colleagues representing different organisational cultures and agendas is essential.  You must also be:

  • Innovative and self-motivated, with a positive constructive attitude.
  • Practical and results focused.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing demands/workload.
  • Willing to learn – to actively seek and digest information.

You will have gained a specialist knowledge and experience of epidemiological, analytical, and statistical techniques and procedures through a degree level qualification, or equivalent experience.  You must be able to demonstrate additional relevant specialist knowledge acquired through training and relevant experience to postgraduate diploma level, or equivalent.

The ability to travel throughout Tayside may be required for the post.

Your performance must comply with the national “Mandatory Induction Standards for Healthcare Support Workers 2009” and with the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers.
