What you'll do

This is an exciting opportunity to join our innovative team within NES Pharmacy. This is an excellent opportunity for pharmacists with an interest in educational initiatives to expand their career experience. We have two distinct roles with our Professional Development (PD) workstream and with our Foundation Training Year (FTY) workstream.

Professional Development (0.4 WTE)

Working within the professional development team, you will focus on the further development and delivery of education and training to meet the requirements of the pharmacy workforce in Scotland. You will have a specific focus on the development of new and updating of existing online resources available via Turas Learn.

You will be highly motivated, demonstrate good attention to detail and have a desire to promote best educational practice. This role requires you to have the ability to adapt quickly to and effectively use new technology and IT software. This role would also allow you to showcase your creativity and design skills.

FTY (1 WTE, this post may be offered on a full time or part time basis).

The postholder will support the FTY workstream to further develop and deliver education and training for Trainee Pharmacists across Scotland. Your work will help the Principal Lead and Practice Education Co-ordinators in providing support and guidance to trainee pharmacists and designated supervisors in this workstream. You will have a key role in the delivery of the curriculum and assessment strategy and will also support the design and development of the quality management aspects of the scheme. Experience of Foundation training will be advantageous, as will knowledge of the GPhC Initial Education and Training Standards and how these apply to Foundation Training.

For both roles you will be highly motivated with a desire to support the further implementation of this exciting initiative. You will work closely with members of the NES team and the wider NES team networks, community pharmacists, hospital and primary care pharmacists, colleagues from the Universities and the wider external stakeholder environment as required.

What you'll bring 

You will be a qualified Pharmacist with a Masters’ degree in Pharmacy or equivalent.  You should be member of the General Pharmaceutical Council of Great Britain.  You will also bring excellent interpersonal skill and the ability to develop and maintain good communications and working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

Please note that travel across Scotland can be a business-as-usual requirement of this role and may require overnight stays (currently on hold). We will offer remote interviews hosted via Microsoft Teams.
