IAT operates as a cohesive multidisciplinary team which allows us to advertise for an PT or OT. We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist with developed clinical skills to join our Integrated Assessment Team (IAT) for 12 months to cover maternity leave. This post would not be suitable for newly qualified graduates.
IAT provides a Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment (CGA) to patients presenting with Frailty to the front door areas (Admissions Units, Emergency Dept and GP Assessment) and the RAD Unit, a Rapid Assessment and Discharge Unit (Ward 9) of the Victoria Hospital Kirkcaldy.
This interdisciplinary team includes Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Advanced Nurse and Clinical Practitioners and Clinical Frailty Assistants. You must be flexible, and could either work within the teams seven day working rota, including a 12.5hr shift pattern (7am-7.30pm) or work core hours based on the RAD Unit Monday – Friday.
You must be able to demonstrate a keen interest in working with Older People, in line with NHS Fife’s Frailty Agenda. You must have significant previous inpatient experience and it is essential that you enjoy working as part of a cohesive team.
Experience of staff supervision/management would be beneficial but not essential. There will be an expectation to participate in clinical audit, quality improvement, in-service training, and evidence based practice. There may also be an opportunity to undertake the clinical supervision and appraisals of more junior staff, as well as contribute to the supervision and development of undergraduate/pre-reg students.
This post is temporary to cover maternity leave. Requests for a secondment will be accepted assuming applicants have the support of their current Manager.
