The Care Response Team is operational across North Highland. Health and Social Care in Highland provides support to people many situations both in the community, day care services, care at home services and within a care home setting.

This post advertised will support people in a variety of settings to reach their maximum potential in a collaborative way. Fundamental to this support is a person centred outcomes focussed approach with the person central to all decision making.

The intermediate care team will consist of health and social care staff working cohesively with the person and other colleagues to ensure the best possible outcomes. Social care workers will have enhanced responsibilities such as leading shifts, supervisory responsibilities and at times medication administration in line with NHS highland medication administration policy.

The post holder will be expected to work flexibly over a range of roles for which training will be given.

The post, as part of a team, covers 24 hours/7 days per week.

In order to be able to carry out the duties of this post effectively and safely, candidates will be able to provide evidence of experience in supporting vulnerable adults, especially older people, in a caring capacity. Applicants must have good communication skills – both verbal and written. SVQ Level 3 in Care, or a willingness and ability to work towards this qualification within an agreed time scale. A driving licence is essential for this post and applicants should have access to their own vehicle for work purposes.
