This Ophthalmology HCSW role will involve working as part of a multidisciplinary team, assisting with the provision of high quality patient care within our Ophthalmology department.

The role provides an exciting opportunity to develop specialist skills, unique to Ophthalmology, in order to meet the needs of patients attending the department.  The Ophthalmology department consists of a busy out-patients department where patients with general eye complaints, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic eye disease as well as eye casualties attend and a day surgery unit where a variety of eye surgeries are performed.

The way we deliver eye care is currently going through a change, with an increasing number of patients being seen in our newly created ‘virtual’ clinics.  The successful applicant will be heavily involved in these, and will be expected to play a part in the refinement and evolution of these clinics going forward.

This post is fixed term for 12 months.
