The overall purpose of this post is to lead the Addictions Nursing Team to support and deliver healthcare provision to detained persons in prisons in NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde (NHSGGC). You will Ensure safe and effective clinical practice, enhance the patients experience of healthcare services, manage and develop the performance of the team and ensure effective contribution to the delivery of service objectives. The nursing team are responsible for conducting clinical assessments, identifying and implementing appropriate interventions, including administration of medicines, providing advice and guidance to prison staff regarding the care of the prisoners whilst in prison, maintaining comprehensive and accurate records to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of prisoners.You will be responsible for managing referrals, providing integrated assessment, implementation and development of care programmes for individuals detained within prisons across NHSGGC. You will be committed to leading a quality service, developing the team. and involved in continuous personal development, updating skills and knowledge, and the development of the service .You will primarily work week day hours however there is a requirement to work unsocial hours on occasions and travel throughout the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde area as requested and will provide specialist care, underpinned with theoretical knowledge to reconise and manage unscheduled care within a secure environment. You shoukd be a registed adult nurse with the revalent experience in the following areas Custodial settings, minor injuries unit, Accident and Emergency, Drug and Alcohol Services , Mental Health orTreatment Room.
