The Balfour

Full time 37.5 hours
Fixed term or Secondment for 6 months (high chance of longer-term extension)

A new opportunity has arisen for a Senior Healthcare Support Worker to work in the Theatre department at The Balfour.

This post offers a unique and exciting opportunity to gain knowledge and skills with a broad range of surgical patients. The successful candidate will work with a multi-professional team to ensure a high standard of support is given to the patients attending for surgical procedures

Working in the operating theatre is a challenging and rewarding role, where Healthcare Support Workers (HCSW) are an essential part of the multidisciplinary team. HSCWs in the operating theatres support other members of the team, such as scrub practitioners, recovery Operating Department practitioners (ODP), surgeons and anaesthetists. You will be working in state-of-the-art operating theatres and will participate in providing a range of surgeries. Although you will be working in a technical environment, good patient care is of utmost importance, and you will be directly involved in the care of the patient whilst they are undergoing their operation.

There is an on-call commitment with this role.

Applicants should possess an SVQ3 in Health & Social Care or have demonstrable evidence of competence through equivalent work experience. Evidence of experience in a care setting is essential and computer literacy is desired.

This post is fixed term due to an ongoing review, however it is likely to be extended longer-term in the future.
