An exciting opportunity has arisen for Staff Nurses to join the ECMS – Medical Specialities teams within the Royal Alexandra Hospital. This post is based within ward 8, Cardiology.    
Ward Background

Ward 8 is has a capacity for 29 in-patient beds providing care to patients at varying stages of cardiac conditions. The ward benefits from the support of the Heart Failure and Chest Pain Nurse specialists. The ward also has a pacing rooms giving staff experience in assisting in the insertion of pace makers and the post procedure management of these patients. There is also opportunities to gain experience in cardioversion, pacemaker insertion & rhythm monitoring. We have excellent links with practice education and regularly obtain places on Advanced Life Support courses.

Staff Group & Work Pattern

The team have mostly worked within the ward for a numbers of years and offer a wealth of experience and knowledge. We would welcome applicants at all stages of their nursing career. We are particularly keen to hear from nurses with post-registration experience in cardiology.

We are also keen to explore alternative work patterns out with the standard 12 hour rotational shift patterns.

Roles & Responsibilities

The successful candidates will become part of the nursing team who will support the assessment, planning and delivery of specialist care. You must be able to demonstrate your ability to engage in a positive ward culture and support the clinical team and engage in programmes of care to enhance the patient journey and patient experience contributing towards delivery of positive outcomes using the Excellence in Care framework. You will be responsible to the Senior Charge Nurse and be expected to work on your own merit, be supported by your colleagues and remain engaged in productive team dynamics.  The successful candidate should be innovative and be creative within their organisational role. The successful candidate will work closely with nurse specialist teams and MDT to ensure a patient centred approach to care is adopted.
