An opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Clinical Photographer with a range of clinical experience and a positive outlook to join the team within NHS Lanarkshire. You will contribute to the provision of professional clinical photography, ophthalmic photography, and graphic design service, to support the delivery of high-quality patient care in a safe and secure environment. You will have a recognized degree-level photography qualification. All applicants will be required to join the Disclosure Scotland PVG Scheme.
The post is full-time, 37.5 hours per week (Shift pattern working, requires 7.5 hrs and possibly 12 hr working days). The successful candidate will be based primarily at the University Hospital Hairmyres but will be required to provide cross-cover support to any NHSL base according to the clinical needs of the service (a full driving license and own transport is essential).
A trainee position may be available for suitable candidates with an appropriate degree in photography. Trainees will be expected to undertake a one-year, distance learning, a post-graduate certificate in clinical photography in order to qualify and register with the AHCS. If the post is offered on this basis, then the appointment will be on a two-year fixed-term contract, or an Annex 21 Band 5.NHS Lanarkshire encourages applications from all sections of the community. KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO DO THE JOB:
Registration in BSc in Medical Illustration Plus Post-registration experience PSA Registered Medical Illustrator with Academy of Healthcare Science Thorough knowledge of digital photography, image processing, and current design trends. Experience in ophthalmic imaging techniques. Experience in ophthalmic imaging techniques.Thorough knowledge of PC and Apple Mac systems and associated software: - Windows, Adobe PhotoShop, and Microsoft Office Professional. OSx, Adobe Creative Suite.Good interpersonal and communication skills. Full UK Driving licence and vehicle required, as this is a rotational post and requires the post holder to travel to Acute Division sites
