We currently have a vacancy for an IT Application Development Manager within the Digital Operations Section Managers Team in NHS Fife.

You should be experienced in modern IT Services and have demonstrable experience of managing the application development of critical, multi-tier IT Applications within a complex organisation. Your background will not necessarily be in the health arena, but you must be able to demonstrate applicable skills, knowledge, and experience within your own business area / sector.

You will manage a team of up to 6-8 staff facilitating high quality and safe application development and maximisation, supporting the digital strategy, and working with other IT colleagues and healthcare practitioners on other local and national digital initiatives. You will be a well-rounded IT professional with excellent customer-facing skills, a self-starter and good communicator, and will be experienced in managing several simultaneous tasks, often under pressure to maintain a safe balance between a busy transition pipeline and protecting the production environment.

You will be skilled and experienced in supporting Project Managers, and suppliers to facilitate complex change and transition. You will be strong when building relationships and negotiating timescales for tasks and work packages intelligently within your resource pool.

You must be able to travel throughout Fife regularly and sometimes across Scotland as required. NHS Fife allows for a hybrid working practice and although based in Dunfermline, you will have considerable freedom to work from home or any other site with bookable desks.

A high level of English language competency and communication skills is necessary to perform this role safely and effectively. NHS Fife is a 24/7 organisation so you may be asked to work outside of normal office hours from time to time.
