This is an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced IT Professional / Manager / Consultant with an extensive and varied IT management background. The Application Services Manager is a new role within NHS Fife to oversee Digital Application related services including support, delivery of application change and transition, application development, third party application support and relevant managed services across NHS Fife.
You will work across the Application Services Teams to protect, develop and maximise overall systems availability for NHS Fife and help provide the resources required to support project and BAU teams improving relationships during project inception, implementation and transition into operations.
You will help improve the cost effectiveness and resilience of the existing application suite, especially in light of changes in technology and business requirements. Working closely with Senior Managers within Digital and Information to scope, prioritise and develop these services.
You will recommend solutions to optimise Application Systems, from innovative use of new technologies to rationalisation of existing systems and be a source of expertise / consultancy on IT Applications / Systems for a digital future in healthcare. Also, advise on the management and governance of IT Systems and end-to-end service delivery.
You will contribute towards the robust and resilient design, development and implementation of the NHS Fife eHealth Digital Roadmap, maintaining a focus on ‘Resilient & Secure by Design’ and align all solutions with the various legislations.
You must be able to travel throughout Fife regularly and sometimes across Scotland as required. NHS Fife allows for a hybrid working practice and although based in Dunfermline, you will have considerable freedom to work from home or any other site with bookable desks.
A high level of English language competency and communication skills is necessary to perform this role safely and effectively. Participation in a 24/7 on-call rota is required along with providing any relevant out of hours support required by the organisation.
