Radiographer recruitment programme

To work as a Radiographer within Scotland you must hold a valid registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Our Radiographer recruitment programme will support internationally-trained Radiographers as they prepare and progress through the HCPC registration process. 

You may be interviewed and offered a role within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde prior to receiving your HCPC registration.  However, you will not be permitted to commence working until your HCPC registration is confirmed.  NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde will withdraw your offer of employment if you fail to achieve your HCPC registration within a reasonable timeframe.

As well as helping you through your HCPC registration, the Workforce Supply Team can arrange for you to be shown what it is like to work as a Radiographer in Scotland.

If you are appointed to one of our Radiographer vacancies, you will have access to personalised support with:

  • recruitment administration

  • departmental visits
  • arranging flights / travel
  • sourcing suitable accommodation
  • accessing peer support
  • relocating to the UK
  • settling into the Greater Glasgow and Clyde community


Financial support

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde will also provide financial assistance with:

  • Health & Care Worker Visa
  • Flights to the UK
  • HCPC Registration and Scrutiny fees

Successful candidates will be reimbursed for the above costs once they have commenced in post.

About the role

As an HCPC-registered Radiographer, you will earn a salary that will vary between £26,104 (GBP) to £47,846 (GBP) per annum depending on your role.  This salary is based on a full-time contract (37.5 hours per week).  If you are working less than 37.5 hours per week, your salary is reduced on a pro-rata basis.
