We are seeking individuals to join a well-established friendly team providing a Phlebotomy service across Ayrshire & Arran.
Although no qualifications or experience are required for the post, the ideal candidate will be qualified to SVQ/NVQ level 3 in a healthcare related subject and have experience of Phlebotomy within a hospital setting.
As a Phlebotomist you will be working in the Haematology Department. Your main duty will be to collect blood samples by venepuncture for laboratory analysis from all relevant clinical areas. Previous experience in phlebotomy is desirable, however full training will be provided in all aspects of the job. Good communication and interpersonal skills are a requirement for this post as well as having the ability to set patients at ease.
Flexibility is essential regarding the exact days and times of working, given that this is a bank post and cover may be required at both Ayr and Crosshouse. The initial training will take place during weekdays but the successful candidate will be required to cover all days Mon – Sun 07.30-11.30 when fully trained. You may be required to work across other sites within NHS Ayrshire and Arran.
