GRI accepts tertiary referral trauma and limb reconstruction cases for the West of Scotland. We manage complex orthopaedic problems including severe fractures with bone loss or joint damage, bone infection, deformity and leg length inequality with a combination of techniques but primarily focussing on the use of circular external fixators (Ilizarov and TSF). Limb reconstruction cases require a multidisciplinary approach and the role of the LRNS is pivotal to the coordination and delivery of effective treatment throughout the treatment programme, which can last for 2-3 years. This post holder also has a responsibility for delivering education to medical and nursing staff and ensuring that appropriate audit and research is implemented. If you have appropriate clinical expertise, the ability to organise and manage own specialist workload and analytical and interpretative skills, in order to assess and act upon patient conditions preventing medical intervention, we would love to hear from you.
