The Moving and Handling Service supports safer moving and handling practice across NHS Highland and makes a real difference to the quality, safety and experience of patients. You will work with the Moving and Handling Manager and the team of Advisors and Trainers to provide co-ordination of training and support to staff in Moving and Handling across NHS Highland.

This is an opportunity to develop your organisational and teaching skills.  You will deliver Moving and Handling training and education and promote safe manual handling practice across NHS Highland contributing to the reduction of risk of musculoskeletal injuries in line with relevant regulations and legislation and NHS Highland Moving and Handling Procedure.  You will be responsible for the day to day running of the Moving and Handling training.  This entails scheduling courses and workshops, communicating with Trainers and Managers, monitoring and contributing to development to ensure the effective delivery of Moving and Handling education to staff.

The successful post holder will be educated to 1st degree level or equivalent in a life science, have experience of delivering care in a health / social care setting and have had experience in teaching Moving and Handling or experience / qualification in Teaching and Learning.  Completion of the Moving and Handling Keyworker training would be an advantage but is not essential. Good communication and presentation skills are essential and a working knowledge of IT including word processing, databases and presentation software an advantage.

Everyone invited to interview will be required to deliver a short teaching session as part of the selection process.
