The post holder will be expected to improve the health and wellbeing of local young people by providing an accessible, appropriate, high quality, culturally sensitive and effective youth health nursing service. This will involve working in partnership with service users, care providers and other agencies. By working in a multidisciplinary team, the post holder will assess/plan, implement and evaluate a programme of care which is evidence based. Utilising all available resources taking into consideration lifestyles, race, gender and cultural background. You duties will include:
- To deliver according to leadership for health and well-being of client group and service development identified by Clinical Coordinator.
- To implement service delivery, support staff (direct and indirect, students) and utilise resources according to agreed programme plans and annual priorities as directed by Clinical Coordinator to implement a social model of health.
- To contribute to the wider work of the LHCC by assisting in identifying priorities particularly in relation to young people.
- To work in partnership with Internal and External NHS/LHCC colleagues, Local Schools, Youth Services (Culture and Leisure), Health Promotion, Social Work / other statutory organisations, Voluntary Agencies, Parents and Young People.
- To provide specialist advice to protect the client group’s health and well-being from specific risks and to work with others to promote health and well-being and reduce risks within youth settings.
It is essential that you are currently a Registered Nurse with the NMC and that you have a Qualification in Family Planning & Reproductive Health and Qualification in Community/Public Health. You should have at least 5 years post registration experience with a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in Primary Care.
This is a Fixed term post until 31st March 2023.
