Fixed Term or Secondment Opportunity (until August 2023)

Salary Scale £50,965 - £55,016 per annum

We are looking for an experienced, registered pharmacist to fill this post. The successful candidate will lead the Medicines Information service for NHS Highland to ensure it provides high quality patient care. Candidates should have experience of providing a Medicines Information Service to UKMI standards or have completed training in this area and have suitable experience of answering enquiries in an area of specialist clinical practice.

Provision of education and training in the skills required for enquiry answering is an important element of this role.  As the training of both unregistered and registered staff has changed in recent years, the post holder will need to have a clear vision of how the training can be delivered to satisfy the requirements of the new frameworks and support trainees to take every opportunity to promote these core skills in other areas of practice.

Face to face patient care will be provided by a regular clinical pharmacy commitment within Raigmore Hospital. Experience of delivering clinical pharmacy services to a variety of patient groups is essential.

The medicines management element of this post involves support to one of the medicines governance groups within NHS Highland.  A proven track record in medicines management and/ or quality improvement techniques would be helpful but is not essential.

You may be required to work occasional days at the weekend and public holidays.
