We are looking for a Dietetic Assistant Practitioner with an interest in delivering a specialist (Tier 2 and Tier 3) weight management service for adults, children and young persons across NHS Lanarkshire.
This is a fixed term post until March 2023 to help support the national and local targets in line with Scottish Government Diabetes Framework and Minimum Standards. You would be involved in the successful delivery of dietetic care within this new service along with working with a range of other health care specialists including dietitians, psychology, physical activity and third sector organisations.
The post will include both 1:1 consultations, joint consultations and delivering group education sessions to patients, their families and carers in the community.
Please note: this post is part time at 22.5 hours and salary will be pro-rata
This position is based at Beckford St, but will reuquire cross site working
If successful in your application, your role within this position is to work under the supervision of registered therapy staff, to assist patients to achieve their rehabilitation goals.
You will implement and adapt treatment programmes within hospital and community settings for individuals / groups of patients and undertake baseline assessments within clearly defined parameters for the identified service. You will also use specialist technical and practical skills to deliver flexible, patient centred programmes.
Duties may vary depending on the care group / department or assigned area of work.
For this position, candidate should hold a formal qualification at HNC Level or equivalent level of experience in a health / education / social care environment plus short specialist courses relevant to specific clinical area. You will need an awareness of health legislation relevant to the clinical area as well as knowledge of the clinical speciality/area process, techniques and / or activities relevant to client group.
This position required an ability to apply a range of technical and practical skills, effective listening, communication and interpersonal skills as well as good time management, planning and organisational skills.
An ability to work individually or as part of a team in addition to an ability to learn and develop new skills and maintain a record of learning is essential for this position.
A working knowledge of basic information technology will be required.
