What you'll do

This is an exciting opportunity, in a new national role, to influence and provide leadership for pharmacy education, training and workforce development across Scotland. The post will work with the Postgraduate Pharmacy Dean/ Director of Pharmacy and alongside the wider Pharmacy Team as part of the Medical Directorate of NES.   You will work  in partnership with Scottish Government, NHSScotland, Higher Education Institutions, Further Education Colleges and appropriate national professional and regulatory bodies.

This new role will lead on specific elements of corporate delivery as well as the wider national/GB regulatory Pharmacy environment  The role will deliver against exciting new strategic responses in relation to workforce transformation, supporting across all sectors of practice to help meet the health and social needs of patients in Scotland.  The post will directly support the Postgraduate Pharmacy Dean/Director of Pharmacy and contribute to the corporate/external relationships with key stakeholders and statutory education bodies (SEBs) across the UK. 

In partnership with the Postgraduate Pharmacy Dean/Director of Pharmacy, the post holder will represent and lead on behalf of NES at relevant senior levels within Scotland as well as UK wide professional and government forums.

What you'll bring 

You will hold a Master of Pharmacy degree, be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) and preferably hold a Post Graduate Degree/Diploma in Clinical PharmacyYou will have significant senior mangement experience in Pharmacy leadership position(s) and a proven track record in clinical practice and delivery of education. You will demonstrate strong communication, influencing and negotiating skills and be able to build and sustain key relationships across the sectors. 

Additionally, alongside significant experience of change management, you will be able to demonstrate a portfolio of leading in education and training development for the wider Pharmacy workforce. 

Please note that travel across Scotland can be a business as usual requirement of this role and may require overnight stays.  ​​​​​​​
