About the Organisation:
Public Health Scotland is a new organisation, set up to improve the lives of people in Scotland, to reduce health inequalities that persist in many of our communities. We have some amazing opportunities for you to join our Data Management team who work on diverse topic areas such as Test and Protect, drug and alcohol misuse, hospital activity, waiting times, health and social care and information governance. As part of these roles you will deliver high quality data management services to contribute and influence the future shape of health and care services.
As one of our Data Managers, you will:
- Lead and manage members of the team involved in data management services ensuring data are timely, accurate and fit for purpose
- Investigate complex data and system problems using your technical skills to propose solutions ensure that action is taken
- Engage with stakeholders to modernise existing data collection systems and contribute to the development of new information sources
- Contribute to technical requirements and responsibility for specifying validation rules, file formats, definitions and guidance with customers and/or system suppliers.
Location and Working Pattern:
Edinburgh or Glasgow, Monday to Friday
During times of public health emergency, or other urgent business need, you may be required on a temporary basis to work your normal contracted working hours over 7 days including weekends, in order to meet the needs of the service.
