The post:
This is a challenging opportunity to help harness the buying power of more than £1.5 billion spent each year on across the NHS in Scotland. National Procurement, the Procurement Centre of Expertise for Health, works in collaboration with Health Boards to ensure the highest level of patient care through the provision of a wide range of goods and services via a series of best value National Contracts and Distribution Services.
The National Distribution and Eurcentral facilities operate over 3 shift patterns, to include Day/Back Shift rotation, and a constant Nightshift, the successful applicant will work a rotating Day Shift (06.00-14.00) and Back Shift (14.00-22.00).
Eurocentral facility operates within a 122,000 Sq Ft warehouse, in all aspects of Good’s In, Pick and Dispatch the successful candidate will have experience of working within a similar FMCG warehouse or logistics role, with demonstrable warehouse operator experience, ideally gained within an FMCG warehouse.
Your role will be to carry out all tasks relating to order pick and despatch, goods in, stock location and operating MHE within the warehouse ensuring depot stock and availability targets are met. You will also ensure compliance with NHSS Logistics health, safety and security procedures and adhere to risk assessments and the development of safe systems of work.
An ability to develop and learn new skills, follow instructions and procedures while working both as part of a team and on own initiative within a fast moving environment are essential.
Location and working pattern:
Day/Back Shift Rotation (0600-1400/1400-2200) – 37.5 hours per week.
