Post: Public Affairs Manager
Grade/Band: Agenda for Change Band 6
Salary Scale: £33,072 - £40,736 per annum (pro rata for part time)
Tenure/Hours; Full- Time Permanent (37.5 hours)
Location: Renfrewshire House
Renfrewshire HSCP provides a range of community health and adult social work services to the population within the area defined by the local authority boundary of Renfrewshire Council (approximately 175,000). We have 28 GP practices, 35 general dental practitioners, 44 community pharmacists and 19 community optometrists.
The post reports to the Planning and Performance Manager and key tasks include: managing all processes and procedures of Complaints/Freedom of Information (FOI)/Subject Access Requests (SARs)/Member Enquiries within Renfrewshire HSCP; provides performance management and analysis support, ensuring the service meets all national and local targets; the development and implementation of an education and training plan for the HSCP administration functions and managers on national policy drivers associated with Information Governance, Data Protection, Complaints and FOI; lead on the development and implementation of the HSCP Records’ Management Plan and improvement planning to ensure compliance with GDPR and information governance requirements.
The post holder will manage complaints in accordance with NHSGGC and Renfrewshire Council’s policies, procedures and relevant legislation, ensuring that all complaints are dealt with in a timely and appropriate manner. The role will also have responsibility to keep the policies and procedures under continual review and provide advice and training to staff.
You should be educated to degree level and have management experience in a large complex organisation, preferably in the Health and Social Care sector. Experience of having successfully managed a busy complaints/FOI/SARs service is essential as well as the ability to work on own initiative and under pressure, making decisions and dealing with numerous concurrent tasks of varying timescales. You should be a skilled writer with the ability to provide effective, credible communications. The shift pattern for this post is Monday – Friday.
