Due to recent developments an exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the clinical research team as a research nurse. The role will deliver a high standard of care and support to research study participants for the duration of the clinical trial, as part of a large multi-disciplinary team.
You will contribute to the effective day-to-day management of clinical trials, including patient recruitment, blood sampling and the collection of study specific information, whilst complying with the study protocol, sponsor and NHS Grampian Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and policies. You will also be required to maintain accurate records of study specific information using traditional paper records, electronic patient management systems or web-based study specific IT systems.
As part of the research team, the successful applicant will be responsible for the identification and recruitment of study participants from research active areas within NHS Grampian.
Applicants should be a Registered Nurse with relevant post-registration experience in the clinical research environment and a number of acute specialist areas. You should be educated to a minimum of degree level and should be registered with the appropriate regulatory body (NMC). However, applications will be considered from candidates who do not meet all the criteria outlined in the person specification.
You must have a proven ability to work independently and the drive to push projects forward ensuring that relevant guidelines and regulations are adhered to. Attention to detail, excellent communication and organisational skills are essential for this post.
Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential for this post.
This post will rotate across all of the adult research specialities in NHS Grampian.
Experience in Oncology and Haematology is advantageous.
