The Adult Mental Health Liaison Service /Unscheduled Care Mental Health Liaison Service aims to provide comprehensive accessible services to health care professionals and their patients throughout NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde Emergency Departments, General Hospitals, Mental Health In-patient Services and Community Mental Health Services.
The post holder would be a key member of multi-disciplinary decision making with regards to referral screening / patient allocation and reviews as well as monitoring nursing workload (clinical activity) / workforce issues and ensuring resource efficiency are critical aspects of the role. The post holder will provide leadership for staff who are providing assessment and treatment to patients with complex mental health, physical and social care needs who present in crisis and may require additional home treatment/care intervention over a 24hr period.
The post-holder will be responsible for the safe and effective deployment and management of the nursing resource to ensure robust risk assessment/ risk management, implementation and signposting to appropriate services to provide complex programmes of care using a strength based recovery focused approach that proactively involves the person and optimises self-management across the services.
